Three males were arrested Wednesday night after the stolen car they were in was involved in a crash in Gulf Breeze, fled the scene and ended up in Pensacola.
- Jessie Earl Rowe, 19, of the 6000 block of Enterprise Drive, Pensacola. Charged with fleeing and eluding, grand theft of a motor vehicle, and resisting an officer.
- Deshun Devonte Haynes, 19, of the 7000 block of Lanier Drive, Pensacola. Charged with resisting an officer.
- Kordell Deshawn Johnson, 18, of the 8200 block of North Davis Highway. Charged with resisting an officer.
Officers initially were dispatched shortly after 5 p.m. to the 17th Avenue/train trestle bridge on a reported traffic crash that had occurred in Gulf Breeze. One of the vehicles involved in the crash had been reported as stolen to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office. A woman told police she followed the stolen vehicle after it collided with her vehicle in Gulf Breeze and fled the scene.
Officer Tony Garza found the vehicle headed west on Gadsden Street from 17th Avenue. Garza activated his emergency lights and siren, followed the vehicle and radioed its location to additional officers responding to the area.
Officer Richard Ghigliotty spotted it traveling westbound on Blount Street where it went through a vacant piece of property and came to a stop behind a house in the 1100 block of East Blount Street.
Three males – Rowe, Haynes and Johnson – ran from the vehicle but were taken into custody after foot chases with officers.
Detectives Darlene Loftin and Matthew Mercado conducted multiple interviews of the suspects and witnesses.
