No one was seriously injured today after two vehicles crashed and the impact forced one of them through a fence and into a house.
The crash occurred around 11 a.m. at the intersection of Spanish Trail and Langley Avenue.
Officer Michael Gibowski said a 2007 Toyota Tundra driven by Braydon Chance Dewberry, 17, of Pensacola was northbound on Spanish Trail approaching the intersection of Langley Avenue on a green light. Meanwhile, a 2014 BMW – driven by Ayfer Wilcox, 58, of Niceville – was eastbound on Langley Avenue approaching the intersection on a red light.
Gibowski said Wilcox ran the red light and struck the Tundra on its driver’s side. The collision forced the Tundra off the road, through a fence and two walls of a house in the 4200 block of Spanish Trail Place. The house received significant damage.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts and went to a local hospital for treatment. Wilcox was given a citation for running a red light, Gibowski said.
